Performing Institutions #1

What is an institution? – The project Performing Institutions by Herbordt/Mohren presents artistic and non-artistic strategies of transgressing existing institutions, sustaining their implementation process or inventing other models of ‚institutionalization‘ and ‚commonization‘.

We invite curators, artists and scholars to discuss about relationships between art, institution and community. With: Ursula Achternkamp, Herbordt/Mohren, Pirkko Husemann, Julian Klein, Sandra Umathum, Matthias Warstat, a.o.

Performing Institutions #1 a cooperation of !KF – Institute for Artistic Research Berlin, Sophiensælen Berlin, the Young Academy at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the National Academy of Natural Sciences Leopoldina, www.die-institution.org, initiated by Herbordt/Mohren.

4 pm-7 pm, Workshop (participation free after registration: perspice@artistic-research.de)
8 pm, public Podium discussion (moderated by Julian Klein). Entrance: 3 €.
